Welcome to Koala Tavern – your brand new “People’s Pub”.
We have been located in the heart of the Redlands Coast since we first opened in 1993.
In November 2022, the tavern reopened after a substantial renovation which saw the introduction of a spacious beer garden adorned with fairy lights, comfortable seating, and umbrellas.
A new play area was also added and the interior was updated to feature a refreshed bistro and a sports bar that’s been transformed into an entertainment hub, complete with live music and sports screenings.
We now have a brand-new huge Beer Garden, fresh public bar and an epic playground for the little ones. We have something for everyone.
We are located in Capalaba, in the City of Redland, 30 minutes drive from Brisbane.
Capalaba boasts family-friendly attractions that draw people from throughout Redlands Coast. One of these gems is Capalaba Regional Park, 14 hectares of open areas where kids can run and play with walking and cycling circuits, picnic and barbecue facilities.
There is a great playground with a flying fox, timber fort and embankment slide.
Koala Tavern is a great place to refresh after touring the area. Whether you’re after an icy cold beer in our huge beer garden, entertainment and live sports in the pumping public bar, or a full roast chook dinner or a classic burger in the family-friendly bistro, the Koala has something for everyone.
On Sundays we have Family Fun Days with balloon artists, face painting and even puppy cuddles.
We’ve built a stage in the Public Bar where we offer live entertainment from comedy, live music and 90s parties.
We have huge TV screens and a fresh new TAB now with its own lounge.
At the Koala Tavern, our newly renovated Gaming Room offers 45 of the latest machines including six jackpot machines dragon link, lightning link, dollar storm, grand star, golden strike, scorching fortunes.
